How the Rap Stakes AI rap judge works

Rap Stakes is the freestyle battle game with the first-ever AI rap judge. Here's a plain-English look at what the judge does – no hype, no made-up numbers.

The basics

You spit your bars, your opponent spits theirs, and instead of a crowd vote the AI judge listens and decides the round. That means you can battle any time, without waiting for a panel.

What the judge looks at

Think of what a battle-rap crowd rewards: how your bars flow, wordplay and rhymes, staying on topic, and how well you respond to your opponent. The AI judge is built to weigh up that kind of thing across both verses, then call a winner.

Is it perfect?

Honestly? No judge is – human or AI. Battle rap is subjective, and the judge won't always agree with you. We keep tuning it, and we'd rather tell you that straight than claim it's flawless. If something feels off, tell us through Support.

Tips to win the judge over

• Speak clearly – mumbled bars are harder to judge.
• Stay on the topic and hit back at your opponent.
• Rhyme with intent – multis and punchlines over filler.
• Keep your flow steady from start to finish.
